1. Can i do the upgrade if i only have ElderShield? Do i need to switch to CareShield Life first?
Answer: No, as long as you have a government basic plan(ElderShield or CareShield Life), you can apply the upgrade using the $600/year medisave approved limit. 


2. How old do i need to be before i can apply for the upgrade?
2.1 I am not sure if i have eldershield or careshield?
Answer: As long as you are age 64 or below. Different age cohort will have different considerations for the upgrade. If unsure, just apply via the link for the upgrade and see if you qualify. 

3. If i stop my current MyCare Plan(ElderShield Supplement), will i get a refund?

Answer: Current MyCare Plans are not pro-rated, thus there will be no refund, however coverage till continue until it ends for that year.
 

4. What happens to my ElderShield supplements if I made a swap from my basic ElderShield to CareShield Life?

Answer: Your ElderShield supplements will remain as long as premiums are paid and will pay out as according based on contractual benefits. 

 

5. What is the max amount from medisave i can use to pay for either ElderShield or CareShield Life Supplements, also can i use medisave for both?

Answer: Each person is only able to use $600/year(in total) from medisave per person, be it to upgrade ElderShield or CareShield Life or both. 

6. If you are born between 1970 and 1979, insured under ElderShield 400, and have not developed severe disability, you have been automatically enrolled into CareShield Life from 1 December 2021. No action is required if you wish to join CareShield Life. Take note for higher disability coverage, you would have to still apply for CareShield supplements in this website.
